Push To Sedo Auction With $60 Bid?

Push to sedo auction with a $60 bid.

I may be wrong but I thought I had seen a thread like this here before....but I can't find it now. Do we have a specific thread for this or is it against the rules?

I think a thread that offers domains for a BIN price or push to sedo auction with a $60 bid would be very popular. Any other thoughts on this? Thanks...

That forum does exist but in another website, not in DNForum.

Correct, we don't support the push to auction threads at this time.

Might be something to think about though!

I strongly urge the adminstration to allow this in dnforum because I believe it would benefit both buyers and sellers, especially if the seller will post a BIN price for their domain. I'm not suggesting we have a rule saying the seller must post a BIN price but it should be allowed....and encouraged. That way if the buyer really wants the name he can get it without taking a chance of being outbid on sedo. This could turn into a real popular thread imho.

As far as I know there is nothing illegal about this and apparently sedo approves of it so what is the argument against it....if there is one? Since we are in the business of buying and selling names I think we should explore every avenue of doing it. Thanks for your attention.

if you're willing to sell your name at sedo for $60 and pay the commission too, then i'm sure you can get some offers there ....if your names are worth that much

or, if you get an offer here, you can always "PM" the person and ask them to place the offer at sedo.

my personal opinion and not as mod, is that we have enough auction sections and sales sections. and if you can't get your name sold thru one of them then maybe you should just wait or your name "ain't worth nothin".

now as mod, i would just see it as another area to moderate.

You're right and that's exactly the point.
Maybe is because those names really doesn't worth that much, so the reason of sending a domain to auction in sedo is to attract a bigger number of domainers than those just here at DNForum.
I've just experimented that and with good results for me. A private offer turned into auction in sedo and I got more money than the initial offer was.

i send many inquiries thru sedo, but only a couple of them went to auction.

typically, the price is agreed between both parties, before the offer is officially submitted.

a lot of domainers are into the auctions, auction houses and events.
that really is not my style, so i can't support it.

but i'm glad that you got more money...that's a good thing.

If the domain is clearly worth more than $60, and the person just wants it in auction anyway, I think it's great.

The value of allowing a push to sedo thread for a $60 bid is that we can all benefit by using the strength of our numbers toward getting our names before the great majority of potential sedo buyers. Often times an owner may be feeling lucky and offer a more valuable name for $60 knowing he has a good chance of getting a much higher bid on sedo.

As most of you know, sedo only charges 10% (and that includes the escrow and them handling the transaction) to sell a name providing it has been parked on their site for a minumum of 32 days. This is the best sales fee I know of, however, all tld's don't qualify so be sure yours does. The only one I know for sure that does qualify is dotcom.

Well, in Sedo, is better to NOT have the domain parked there to get better fees.
    Check this: https://sedo.com/services/prices.php...d=&language=us
Read the External Transfer section, the fee is only 3% is you don't have the domain previously parked there.

So, having the domain parked there is punish, not an advantage.

I've sold several domains using the External Transfer, it is very convenient.

yes, this is true....but that means you have to first find your buyer yourself and there's still a $50 to $150 minimum fee depending on what the tld is. I agree its a good deal if you're just in need of someone reliable to handle the escrow and transfer for you AFTER you've found your buyer somewhere else....and the sale is for $500 or more.

For those domains on auction with a $60 bid you MUST have had them on sedo ppc page at least 32 days to avoid paying the $50 minimum sales fee.
