I just about to post the same issue.
If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!Even when i try to tweak the settings i still can't get any decent results. for example, searching the term 'GoDaddy' should bring up tons of results but instead only get 96. Also when searching by username I only get the threads the username started rather than all of posts.
I just about to post the same issue.
I too see few results in search. Maybe a google search tool can be implemented somehow.
Its really frustrating when its hard to find stuff.
Have your tried the search today. I did a search for GoDaddy and receive more than 500 results.
We rebuilt the search index which may have helped. One thing I do notice is you have to keep selecting the pages on the results to show more results.
For example after your search it gives you the results numbers with the pages you can select to see more: 1,2,3,4 etc. If you select 4 you will notice there another 5 pages of selection will appear: 5,6,7,8,9 etc.
So maybe it confused you in terms of not visibily showing all the results at once?
Thanks
There is an overly-tight limit on the length of the domain name.
I search for a domain name, e.g. DocumentAAABBBc.com which is only 15 chars, plus the .com
Results: no search is performed
Message: "The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search:
"DocumentAAABBBC.com"
(just one char less, and the search is performed)
DNF should follow general domain length rules that are standardised on the net
Looks like it's been fixed. It works for me.
there is still the problem of only the threads started when searching by username showing up instead of all posts.
Huseyin,
If I see a domain I like, I pm the person. The pm does not show the thread; they PM me back, lets say with a price,
but they dont type out the domain. Somehow I forget the domain, so I think - lets just search for it. And search
does not work. This is the most common search i do and it rarely works. If I search by username, I do NOT get
the post that was the For Sale post. (but searching on the domain name DOES bring up the For Sale post).
The For Sale post should show whether you search on username or domain name.
i will pm you a specifc example.
Kevin
