What happened?

What happened? This is the 2nd time I have experienced this 4-6 hours down time. They were all something related to the mysql database.

There are some ongoing server upgrades and software updates going on in the background.

I will speak to our tech to find out specifically what the issue was.

Thank you

I have also noticed that the iSpy function has had some issues lately. It is not updating as it should. Right now I need to refresh my browser for it to update. It's been like this for a couple of days now. Just thought I'd let you know, as this is a function I use a lot.

DCG was celebrating Fellow's win yesterday and popped a bottle on champagne over one of the servers... It's all dried up now though!

The Ispy seems to be functioning fine here.
Are you still having issues with it?

It works fine here for 1-2 minutes, but after that it stops refreshing automatically. Load it up, wait 5 minutes and memorize the latest posts (according to iSpy), then refresh your browser and you'll see there's been like 10-15 new posts that iSpy hasn't updated.

It is the best feature ever IMO. I use it all the time! It is a good way of keeping yourself updated with the latest domains for sale and then, suddenly you see a bargain and then, BOOM you can post 'Sold @ BIN' 2 seconds after the seller has posted the thread.

BTW, right now, the latest post iSpy shows is this one, which was posted more than 30 minutes ago. Now I will have to refresh my browser for the iSpy to update.

I think this doesn't add value, the board already has Today's Thread and Today's Posts. Personally, I never use ispy and this is the first time I clicked on the link.

IMO

Yes. A lot more than we need another forum for $1 auction domains. It is getting ridiculous out there. These new sub-forums are meaning the ispy is even more important as otherwise you have to dredge through 10-15 sub-forums to see new domains listed. I bet if you voted in the exclusive section whether people thought more sub-forums were a good idea you would get a resounding NO!, but a resounding YES as to whether you should give some attention to the ispy... just my 2 cents.

Yes, I use it all the time myself. Never had a problem with it personally. I use ispy more than anything else.

Actually I like the new $1 auction forum, as it's a good way of cleaning out names from your portfolios. What I do not think we need though, is the "As Is" forum. If people are selling their domains "as is", they can do it in the "Make Offers" section and just state "Domain sold as is" or similar (which a lot of people are already doing). Get rid of the "As Is" forum and let's keep the $1 Auction forum.

This is a good idea. I have no specific beef with the $1 section, just with the number of sub-forums there are now and some are not really used much.

Our tech is looking into the issue and trying to narrow down the problem.

Will post an update later today.
