What is this "Shout" thing all about? - DNForum - Domain Sales, Domain Forum, Domain Appraisals, Domain Registrars

I click dnforum within my favorites list every morning and I am suddenly confronted with all these inane (some of them rude) comments on the front page of this site. I am just wondering if the site administrators have lost the plot?

Hi

go to your user control panel and click on "edit options" for your pm box.

by default, pm box sounds is unchecked, you must check it to disable.

I think Ed30 was refering to the shoutbox, which is now gone. That is a mod tool that somehow slipped into public view for a little while.

I think he is refering to the 'inbox' messages.
Took me a while as well to figure out to disable it.

Totally misplaced on a forum like this.

That's right - and it's still there before you login. Log out and you'll see it on the front page.

It happened to me when I scrubbed cleaned my computer of cookies using Norton cleansweep then came back to DNF. Did you see that "I am God!!!" remark?
