When the mods miss the forest

...while looking at the tree. Or something like that.

So the rule is "no comments in sales threads". The rule should be more accurate as there are circumstances that require a conversation to unfold on the domain being sold.

For example, no comments of the kind "this domain sucks" or "this domain is super" should be allowed.

When a seller insinuates a domain has a certain meaning, it's only fair that further questions can be asked, related to deciding its fair value.

Example http://www.dnforum.com/f581/dubai203...ad-380011.html

My comments and those of others were deleted. It *appears* that the number has a certain purpose, however after the seller was asked to define it, he did not specify the number as descriptive of a date or height alongside the main keyword. His closing statement was that the number can be "anything the owner wishes it to be".

I find it alarming that a moderator would be willing to "clean up" a sales thread but not be able to read between the lines. Textbook enforcement of rules belongs in totalitarian communities.

the thread was reported

the OP of that sales thread should NOT have invited questions relating to the meaning of the domain for sale.

a pm was sent to him and the thread cleaned.

end of story
