New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner has died at the age of 80, according to multiple reports.
Several U.S. media outlets reported earlier Tuesday that Steinbrenner suffered a heart attack and was taken to hospital near his home in the Tampa, Fla.
Steinbrenner had owned the Yankees since 1973, winning seven World Series championships over that time.

Thoughts and Prayers
No doubt, he changed the face of baseball paying incredible sums for free agents. He just did not like to lose.
I remember him hiring Billy Martin and firing him 4 times as manager.
He and Marge Shott (Cincinnati Reds owner) were going to do things their way and everyone else be damned!
He brought 7-World Championships to NYC. He liked to win: Reggie Jackson & the whole free agency changed from the time he entered this business.
