Um, no hockey talk?

Ok, lets get past the USA vs. Canada game.

The other game I saw yesterday was Russia vs Czech.

The Russians looked scarey good, like USSR of old.

Very physical and almost made this a half-rink game...controlled the play between the blue lines.

Of course, nearly all of these teams are made up of NHL players.

But this is some damn good hockey going on!

Canadians are in morning. America didn't actually deserve to win that game having been outplayed the entire game, but when it counted they beat Brodeur. I knew they should have played Fleury instead. Miller had a great game and will be hard to beat not only in the Olympics but in the rest of the NHL season as well.

The Russians got stunned by the Slovaks which was a surprise. And for Canada it isn't over yet but the road is rather uphill from here...

I am seeing some of the best hockey I have seen in ages.

I honestly think it is because the Olympics is viewed as a Short Season rather than 160 games a year.

Each of these games counts and matters in regards to advancing. Or not advancing!

Its like every minute, every period, every game has a sense of urgency.

I was listening to the Czech/USSR game. The announcers said that if Russia had lost, they would still have a chance to make the medal rounds but would have to play 4 games this week back-to-back just to get to the medal rounds. That's crazy.

Let me shed a tear. Just cause you invented the sport doesn't mean you always get win.

BTW....I personally like womens Curling. Some hotties play that sport

I've not seen any of the women's hockey. I need to find out which of the other NBC networks/affiliates is carrying this stuff live. Tired of seeing the results long before the images are broadcast.

I think it's time for some extensive gender tests within women's hockey. I saw three "women" so far that could easily pass as Fabio. One sport I definitely won't be watching, that stuff will give me nightmares.

I saw where Canada Mens Team bested Russia.

That had to be an impressive win as Russia looked mighty good aganst the Czech Republic.

Good possibility that US v Canada might happen in the run up to the medals.

And congrats to the CA women's hockey team.

And please, who cares if the girls drank champagne and smoked a cigar.

I know they apologized for their behavior as it may not fit the role model types for younger girls.

But I actually enjoyed seeming them sit on the ice (their home turf) and finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

They deserve it and NOW is the time to party and take in the victory.

This has been a very enjoyable Olympics to watch.

Someone mentioned earlier that there are not a bunch of prima donnas running around and I have to agree.

Great to see so many kids out there just having a blast.

And I have thoroughly loved all the snowboarding sports.

They look like so much fun and the peeps doing it were having fun.

I have to say that the game the canadians played against the russian was amazing, they had no chance at all and you got a bunch of wonderful hockeyplayers, toews and crosby --woooow

with that said I'm backing the canadians tongiht (yes,swedish time ) and i bet it is going to be one of the best games i have ever seen..i doubt that Usa can stand a chance but we´ll see....my guess is 4-2 to canada, last goal in open net 19:37 into the 3rd period ....

I watched an earlier game with the Russians and they appeared to be extremely physical and the defense was incredible between the blue lines. They looked like the Russian team that dominated a few decades ago.

But there is so much finesse and great skaters today and it has been exciting.

Naturally, I'll be for the USA but there are so many greats playing that this is going to be such a pleasure to watch.

Canada didn't get the most medals but we set a record for most gold medals! It's going to be 14 total in about 3 hours!

Going to be a heck of street party tonight on Robson Street - going right after the game. Hope the rain holds off...
