Ok since I left Italy in 2004 I did not follow much soccer but all I can say is that here down under we had Australia making the qualification for the second time in the history and if they win only 1 game it will be like they won the final.

The strength of Australia lies in Cricket. I doubt if they can make any good move in the world cup football.

Italy? I doubt it.....italian soccer is into the storm with all the scandals that finally after everybody was making rumors for decades of years, some judges decided to look at.
I personally stopped supporting my country after the world cup hosted there in 1990......when Maradona and Caniggia won the semi-final against Italy.

i really don't see how the ongoing scandals in Ital^y will affect the team in the short term. therefore such an argument does not hold this world cup unless Buffon becomes psychologically disturbed.

on another note yesterday i watched an international build up game at geneva between brasil and New Zealand in which the former won 4-0. after what i saw i am more or less that there is trouble looming at the horizon as the Brazilians are simply invincible!! they are in the best form like never before
