    Looking for ideas. Win DNF$10,000!!

    Greetings,

I started www.MoneyBlog.com a few months ago but didn't spend enough time to update regulary. This domain gets good type-in traffic as well. I am considering various ideas to take this to the next level.

Looking to get some ideas. Please feel free to throw in ideas that are relevant and win DNF$10,000! Apart from this DNF$10,000 winner, I will also pay DNF$500 each for top 10 ideas!

One idea that I currently have is to turn this into Affiliate Marketing/Internet Marketing blog. Maybe you have better ideas?

    Contest ends on 02-28-09.

    Thanks,
    Sai.

Create a site where people can share their ideas about "the next big thing" to make money (not only on the web but in general).

No crappy make money scheme...real great ideas.

Invite some companies to invest in the best projects (they can give some capitals to create start ups).

    Personal Finance

I think this would be best developed as a consumer-oriented Personal Finance blog with great tips to save money and make money every day.

This is the right market, the right timing for money-saving tips, and the consumer market, the engine of the economy, is far larger than an industry-related subject, such as affiliate marketing.

This would make a great newsletter too, to increase your contact points (include ppc and affiliate links in your newsletter)

    - Find a better phone/cable deal from a competitor, then call your cable company and ask for the same deal or threaten to leave. They will usually give you the lower deal.

    - Hyper-miling: Get the most out of a gallon of gas by using your car brakes less. Roll up to stop signs and traffic slowdowns. To learn how much, take a test drive at a car lot of a car that displays the fuel consumption. As you test drive, notice how much burn occurs while accelerating. This will teach you just how good it is to keep a steady foot.

    - FastFood: we don't always have time to make our own food, and have to go through the drive in. Buy your drink from the gas station first, then order the inexpensive hamburger/chickenburger deal, two if you miss the fries. You can turn an eight dollar fast food meal into a four dollar meal.

    - If you like hardcover novels, buy them from Amazon immediately upon their release, read them quickly, then sell them back through Amazon. Amazon pays for all the shipping if you have premium sipping service, and you get to read the nice new release hardback for the same price of a few dollars that you would pay months from now for a paperback. Be sure to sell them within the first two months of the novel release, or the demand will be gone.

    - Sell your old novels at Amazon. Here's how.

    - Easy ideas for homemade gifts for holidays and birthdays.

    - Make a shopping list and stick to it. No impulse buys.

    - Make a habit of collecting honey packets, ketchup packets, Jams and Preserve pakets, sugar packets, soy sauce packets and other free condiments and goodies from restaurants, hotels and cafes.

    - Cheap Bread: A good loaf daily-baked bread from a local bakery sells for about $4.50. You can often buy unsold bread, baked fresh that morning, for 75% off if you time it right and show up one half-hour before closing.

    More, more, more . . .

Make a site about money savings. The visitors will be a niche. They will keep returning, and in a time like today. You blog will be on fire! Make topics about coupons, freebies, rebates, and more! Trust me.

Ok...This is a far out idea...May be really stupid...it is late and I am beta testing one of my websites so I am really fried right now....but who knows... this idea may catch on virally.

Take $20 bills...record the numbers on all the bills on the site and each bill will represent a new blog, Write "Tell the Story at MoneyBlog.com" - on each $20 bill (100's or 1000's can do this). Each initiator and each subsequent person who receives and/or spends that twenty - blogs about either how they got that $20 bill or what they spent it on...where they were when they spent it (Vegas, the bar, picking up a girl, a tip for a great meal...you get the picture). Tracking the story of each $20 bill could be really interesting...

Ok...as I always say...I have a hundred ideas a day and once a year I have a good idea ...so maybe today is not my day.

I don't think you're crazy yet. I received a dollar bill once with writing along the margins that said: "Where's George? Tell us where this bill has traveled at www.wheresgeorge.com" I never typed in the serial number because i spent the bill. But your post reminded me of this. Check it out. http://www.wheresgeorge.com/ This would be an easy idea to knock off.

Wow...nice find. I had no idea that was being done...The idea I had is similar...but incorporating blogs associated with each of the bills...this "George" site would give a huge head start on development.

I think the only way they get traffic is by circulating their bills. So I think anyone could enter this market. There's room for more.

Coincidentally, I just pulled another one out of my pocket. This one is a fiver, and it has four stamped messages all over it in the margins. It should have been WheresAbraham.com.

The serial number is: FL15576336B 2003A

I just entered it on the site and found that it began its travels recently. Among other things, this is what the site told me about the bill:

This bill has travelled 9.7 Miles in 39 Days, 18 Hrs, 47 Mins at an average of 0.24 Miles per day.
It is now 9.7 Miles from its starting location.

    1) One small message in red ink,
right above the serial number on the right reads:
    "Track this bill at www.wheresgeorge.com"

    2) Sideways on the front, up the left edge, in blue:
    "See where I've been
    Track where I go next
    www.wheresgeorge.com"

    3) on the back centered across the top in the margin, larger red letters:
    "Where does your money go?"

    4) Then centered across the bottom in the margin, also larger red letters:

Here are some more personal finance tips.

Buy used cars, not new. The most expensive miles to drive are the first 10,000. Let someone else pay for those.

Have Patience. Don't buy new gadgets when they launch. Wait until the price goes down.

Buy plane tickets in advance. It's cheaper to buy about two months in advance, shop for deals.

Get the most out of your airline miles. Each airline mile you redeem should be worth at least 1 cent toward the price of a ticket.

Never buy extended warranties. New products come with 90-day or 1 year warranties (when most faulty things will break). The reason everyone wants to sell you the extended warranty is that they're hugely profitable, for the business, not you.

Cook your own meals. Eating out is expensive if you do it too often.

Make your home energy efficient. Visit www.Bankrate.com for a list of 17 ways to increase efficiency.

Improve your cell phone plan. If you have had the same plan for a couple of years, there's probably something better out there. Look around or call your current service and ask for a cheaper deal.

Banking fees are for losers. Many banks charge you checking fees or minimum account balance fees. Find a bank that does not do this.

Track your spending. For at least one month, keep a log of everything you buy. At the end of that month, review your spending priorities and adjustment spending.

Dump your car. Walk, bike, or take public transit. You save on car payments, insurance, gas, parking, and parking tickets.

Use your frequent flier miles. They may expire soon. There's no sense in hoarding them. If you have enough miles for a free flight, use the miles.

Buy through airline partners stores. www.AA.com, for example, has many retail partners, you can earn frequent flier miles with everything you buy.

Negotiate fees. Ask banks to waive late fees. Often they will.
Marketing is the key to successful site development.

    MoneyBlog

Okay this probally will be far fetched but I would maybe turn it into a variety site/discussion board.

What do I mean by this?

The obvious how to earn, save, and so forth.

Other ideas for it would be to define money. Currency exchange, Translator

Have an area for people who have money goals to document their personal success.

This week I earned xxx and spent xx for supplies / my plan is to earn xxxx for next month. How I got my start.

Basically an overall money blog. A section for everything.

It would be a TIP, BRAGGING, GIVE ME HOPE, USEFUL, RESOURCEFUL Site.

(Maybe even a silly section "What would you do with a certain amount of money" (A specific amount and have a place for people to write what they would do with it)

Ok here is my wacky but kooky idea. Have a contest site where people's money saving ideas and tips will be rated my others. Kinda like the hot or not script. So whoever wins that week, you can work some other companies who'll want to get in on your site because you'll be driving mad traffic hopefully to it. They offer the prizes and such. I am sure you'll get some funny, weird, crazy and everything in between posting there hoping to win whatever you can pull out of the magic hat

    God speed!

Before you start investing further on this domain(blog) make sure google is running behind this kind of money making websites and penalizing them.
Beware before you invest in same.

    2.
    For expansion.
I will recommend you to hire article writers and post 2 to 3 articles a day on this blog.
(use wordpress and create atleast 20+ categories, each category further having 2 to 3 sub-categories)

    3. This is recession time check websites like guardian.co.uk and if your article writers can make similar type of content (TITLE )
