Arrow Can someone explain, please?

Every now and again I check out my sites placement on the major search engines for keywords specific to my category. I know my site is highly unlikely to show up on the first 10 pages or so, based upon the keywords I choose but I do it nonetheless.

Lately I have been getting a ton of traffic from Googlebot and MSNbot - this started about a month ago or so. I did nothing to promote the site over that time, just saw a spike in hits from the two bots (Im not sure if this means anything, hope soemone can explain).

Well, I checked today to see if my site was placed on any of the major SE's for the keywords "emails." As you can expect, there are millions of results for that keyword. On most of the SE's I got nothing, but on MSN I landed on page 2. I think my site was actually the 14th result. I had to run the search twice because I didnt believe it.

How does one go from nowheer to page two for a big keyword such as this? I have not done anything in particular to promote the site and wonder how MSN saw fit to place me on page 2?

Can someone explain this to me?
Thank you,

Stuart.
