Multiple Domain - 1 Site - But will now be 2!

Hoping someone can offer insight on this...

Here's an example of what I mean...

I own one site... but two domains. Example1.com and Example2.com both point to that one site. Google sees Example1.com and Example2.com as exactly the same and has only indexed Example1.com.

Now, I'm going to be splitting them. They will be completely different and unique sites. They will be owned by two different companies now.

Do I need to resubmit Example2.com to Google, or will it automatically get indexed as unique? Is there anything special I need to do? I'm doing what I can for keyword optimization on Example2.com, but is there anything else I need to do to get Google indexing Example2.com properly, and no longer as a duplicate URL for Example1.com?

Hope that makes sense...

Any thoughts appreciated...
