I will definitely look further into my own hosting account. I am currently looking at http://www.new.aplus.net/page.php?pg=main - That's www.Aplus.net
I use httpme.com which has super support and a nice community of resellers (they only sell to resellers, not competing with them), and when I was looking, my second and third choices would have been voxtreme.com and weberz.com. You might check them out too. All have had good reviews at webhosttalk.com. Good luck. The initial planning and setup is the tough part.

The WhoIs problem now has more light on it, thanks again, Mark. My WhoIs http://www.domainduck.net/hi/frames/whois/who-is.htm and the NameBargain WhoIs are two that I know of that time out at eNom.com's servers. I wonder if eNom.com is putting blockades up? I will have to contact them.
Some registrar sites now limit the number of querries per day/hour from specific other sites as a measure to stop harvesters of emails by spammers. you may be up against a site that's met it's quota very quickly. I believe whois-source makes you verify a graphical number after so many searches to stop email harvest bots from stressing their whois system.

BTW, another URL forwarding site is domainredirect.com which I used a long time ago.
