That is my point. The algorithms are already set up to do this, but at the moment because there are relative few extension, it is a comparatively minor issue. ICANN are budgeting for the addition of about 1000 new gTLDs over the next three years. To get to the top of that lot your domain is going to have to be pretty special. Dot WS just isn't going to cut it. Yes, the Keyword is still going to be significant so crap dot coms won't cut it either. However, domain names are going to become a lot more critical to
SEO than they have been previously. Picking up good keywords regardless of extension will be a thing of the past.
