the registrar might also be limiting the number of requests per second.
A tool that I was using was sending requests to the Moniker api and I think they were limiting me to 1 request per second (or 2, not sure). Which really handicapped me, let alone that I never stood a chance of competing anyway, so I quit wasting my time
