There will always be sceptics. You are certainly not the first! Most of the speculators in IDNs have previously been very sceptical.
Just to clarify, I am not an IDN sceptic - far from it.
I am concerned, however, about the recent 'market'
in idn.com, where such names have (reportedly) been
selling for several thousand dollars a piece.

I am well aware of the income/traffic/opportunity as
it concerns idn.com names, and that is why I hold
mainly idn.idn, as I believe this will ultimately be the
domain of choice in countries that want (and need)
idn.

I am also well aware of the mindset of the typical
domainer, and have a very hard time in believing
THAT... in the absence of an established market
they would pay such prices for domains that are
absolutely unproven, generate little to no traffic
and cannot really be considered desirable even
from a purely speculative viewpoint.
