| Many people seem to not understand that the domain marketplace, much like the stock market, has volatility and direction. Capital is not ever-flowing; there are strategic acquisitions that seem to achieve high prices while domains with similar (or better) characteristics fail to reach the same price. Today's domain market does not sustain the financial frolicking of the 1990's, when start-ups would easily acquire angel capital and offer stock via an IPO. Similarly, in the 1990's the domain market was not as expanded as it is today. |
