Herein lies a few problems:
1: People from Asia do not regard themselves as 'Asian' .. as it were .. they are Chinese, Malaysian, Vietnamese etc way before they are 'Asian'
2: IF .asia was going to be a success then Thais are unlikely to be looking for fuut.asia .. more likely to be looking for อาหาร.asia (Sp?) .. would you agree?
3: English is prevalent insofar that you are likely to only see anything written about Asia in English (Unless you speak / are fluent in languages other than English) .. this does not represent the language that Asians are speaking / use or communicate in for business / everyday life etc .. be it in 'real life' or on the 'interweb'
4: 'Asians' have been forced to use ASCII domain names since the 'beginning of time' .. as it were.. because the 'godfathers' of the internet did not figure 'Asians' or people who use non-ASCII characters in their language into the equation .. thereby locking out the majority of humanity.
Fortunately this is changing
