Absolutely. My first domain was a disaster! I don't even want to post it because it's so embarrassing...
But once you've read enough and learned from doing things better the second time around, it can only go up. Just don't waste too much money in the learning process. Limit your monthly budget to an amount you can easily afford to loose. When you start making profits on a regular basis you will automatically invest more money and get a feeling for it.
