It's about link building too. You can submit your site to directories and article directories.
Directories will list what your site is about and supply a link to your site. If you submit to article directories you will need to write a short article to submit. You can usually supply anchor text with these submittings too, which I would recommend doing.
Whatver you do, DO NOT use an automatic submitter or a service that has auto submitting. Hand submitting is the best way.
