| Re: .IS Iceland Domains anyone here have or know about? The TLD is quite restricted.
First off, in Iceland you need a kennitala (national ID #) for *anything*, including registration. I have a kennitala but I believe registration is for companies, not individuals. I only have one .is and it was applied for with the kennitala of the local company.
In your case I would suggest applying for an Icelandic trade mark. As soon as it is filed you can register the domain name on the basis of the TM.
You will still need an Icelandic admin contact for the domain but some companies provide the service for foreign registrants.
Another possibility is setting up a local company but it will cost more.
.is names are not cheap either. But if you really want it it can be done. |
