The only way he'd get sent to the US is by force in a case like this. What can happen if a charge sticks here is he will be banned from the US for life. Among other countries who don't allow even shoplifters to cross into their jurisdiction.

It might hit the news, but doubt it. If anything, a blip on a distant page. All be it interesting in our trade, the general public has other intests.
