Which is the part of the argument for .mobi = yes it's a mobile site
foxnews.mobi = fox mobile site
wap.foxnews.proteus.com = this is our long url that is actually our mobile website but you will never remember it when you see it in a print ad, or if you hear it spoken out loud, so we'll just use the .mobi
proteus seems to be the company that developed the site for Fox, so I would think Fox would put this site on their own domain eventually, maybe the .mobi

We know any extension can be used for mobile but the public will just see
.mobi = mobile
Similar to how .com came out first and everyone got used to that, .mobi will be perceived to be for mobile, if they brand it right.
