The government declassified years ago experiments that were done in the 40's, 50's, 60's and "through the 70's" (chances are that they continued though the 80's and maybe even the 90's).

They were testing the effects of radiation (as in nuclear weapon radiation) on schools in the USA though milk that had been exposed though different levels of radiation (radioactive milk).

I don't think it is a coincidence that my school system has one of the highest thyroid cancer rates in the US. They blamed it on the fact that the high school and junior high (next to each other) were built on landfills. They claim that it was only conducted on "retarded" (mentally disabled) children but I know that in my schools - they pulled their milk out of the same coolers that the rest of us did. Even if they could get them separate milks to these children, the radiation could easily affect other containers of milk next to them, even at low levels.

Sure, there is a nuclear power plant nearby (about 15 miles away) but it didn't go online until 1990.

I have very little doubt that these experiments continued though the 80s and at the schools that I attended.

As for 'where I'm going with this' - I am just curios to see what other people may think.
