Also an Aussie. Got the 701 model back in Feb and feeling kinda ripped off, but hey, laptops always drop in price 6 months after you get them because the newer shiner versions are out.
I got the linux version because I can install Windows myself, so it's a $100 saving right there. The HDD capacity was frustrating, but hey, I've got a 120gb outboard that fits in a pocket that I wasn't exactly using. So that's become my Windows drive (because you kinda of need 120gb for Windows + programs for some reason, whereas 8gb is ample for Linux and its software suite)
I occasionally do a bit of WARDriving with it.
My favourite thing about it is how if I plug my TyTn2 into it by USB, it recognises it as a modem, for times I can't piggyback onto a wireless network (there aren't many free ones in Australia, other than people that don't secure their own) |
