Everything in the domain business is relative to timing.
That is a huge return on investment in a very short time frame. If you calc that ROI on an annualized basis it is clearly off the charts.
Could you have sold it for $50K? $100K? $200K? Probably so. However timing is everything in investing and .mobi is still up in the air in terms of its ultimate credibility in the marketplace and the gaming sector is under immense legislative attention. So as much as it could have sold for way more, it could have also sold for way less in the future.
I've found you're much better off to take a nice pop when the opportunity arises and don't waste your time second guessing your decision to sell.
You can beat the casino, the stock market, etc. when you win and walk with your profits. Sit and stay hoping for more almost always means walking out with empty pockets. |
