Good point. I installed both Chrome and IE8 and it appears they were in effect 'stealing' my 404 error code traffic by going to a search or suggested sites instead of my own 404 pages and redirect to my home-page. That is an immediate loss of traffic, especially with some sites which get a lot of 404's.
