My heart goes out to you on your loss.

I, too, lost my father a couple of years ago after the prostate cancer had taken over his skeleton.

Even though we know it is coming, it doesn't make it any easier when it happens.

Funny are the things that start me thinking of him... sometimes they make sense, sometimes I just go "huh?".

I'll hear his words coming out of me when I'm talking to my kids sometimes. I usually smile when this happens and realize I'm doing it right

The same type of things happen with others that I know that have gone through this so it will likely be similar for you.

Don't know what will do it for you, but one of the last conversations I had with my dad was about what he thought would happen for him when he passed on...

Not being a particularly religious man but very tuned in to spirituality and nature and having had a very successful career in the race horse business he told me this:
"Many good men have gone before me, I look forward to meeting up with them.
I expect I'll be met with some of my favorite dogs and Fighting Irish (a black Stallion we had many, many years ago).
So I guess I'll just get on Irish and ride off through the clouds with the dogs"

That's how I'll always picture it for him.
