It seems to be going through. Rick just wrote on his blog that the sale is about complete and could even close today.
It'll be interesting to find out who bought it when the press release hits.
He also writes in his blog that he will receive 2% royalties for as long as 15 years, so the sum is actually much more than 3 million. Again congratulations to Rick!
