Re: Dnforum and The Philadelphia Eagles? What do we have in common?

Do health clubs rise the prices of their services so much overnight and without any warning? You've just upped the "avatar change" to a whopping $10 (real) bucks (and then you or your staff closed the thread in which that question was asked) without giving any reason, explanation or warning to your current members. Frankly, I never heard of anyone on the Internet who charges $10 bucks for an avatar change. Of course you can tell me it's none of my business (and it isn't) but the point I am trying to make is that sometimes you should think twice about some of the things and implementations you do, cause it's not what you're doing, but how you're doing it.

I think your intentions are o.k. and with many of them I agree in principle, but the way you go about them, I believe, is rather crude, a bit unsophisticated and somewhat unappropriate (for your own P.R. sake) for someone who purports to be our friend. Or at least that's how it appears from this side of the computer screen.

Finally, domaining is rather tough "business" these days. Most of the members on this forum actually lose money in a course of one year. And even if they make money they are doing that largely independently of this place which means they come here not for the "business" aspect of the forum, but (mostly) for its "community" benefits. They come here to learn, to communicate, to vent, eo exchange ideas, to dream. If you take away that from them only to concentrate on conducting "business" you will lose most of your audience, because it's not the "business" that drives the forum growth, but its "community".
