You can put totally unrelated phrase or keyword against an another unrelated term to manipulate the statistics.
Here's an example for such a manipulation:
Just have a look at the Google Trends for:
bike,scooter,car
http://www.google.com/trends?q=bike%2Cscooter%2Ccar
Bike and
scooter have some relation (
two wheelers), but
car has no connection with
bike or
scooter.
Although
car has the highest trend among the three, which doesn't mean
car is the primary term for "bike" or "scooter".
