| Re: Cpanel WHM question I have both types of accounts at Hostgator, and I'm completely fed up with WHM and am in fact looking for alternatives now, for those that I manage for my clients.
I had one account that went .18 over bandwidth limit and they put up an error message on her site. I went to WHM to try to see what was going on. To see bandwidth status, you don't go to one screen. You go to a bandwidth usage screen. Print it or write it all down, because this is going to take awhile. Then you go to list accounts. This tells you the domain, and the space quota (which they just call "quota" but it's the amount of space taken up on the hard drive.. or at least allocated). It also tells yo uwhich "package" is assigned to the account. You can't just change quotas for the account. (They don't call bandwidth a quota, even though that's what they're talking about. There's a space quota/allocation, and a bandwidth quota.. but they call the first one quota and the second one bandwidth.) It would be too simple to keep management all on one page... The next thing you have to do is go edit your package. Packages are named and essentially set the two quota amounts. But if you edit a package, guess what? It doesn't automatically reset the package that was assigned to the domain. You have to go back and do that by hand also. All among five screens. GRrrrr... Anybody have a better host with a better solution for managing accounts/quotas, than the deplorable WHM?!!!!
