Thanks for testing that 404 issue, I was concerned about Google Chrome bypassing my pages. Guess it means I need to make sure 404 pages hold some value to visitors (i.e. internal site navigation) and provide monetary value.

Yes, Google is taking Microsoft head on. With a browser they can further optimize their application suite as well as better collect traffic data. Google already has an operating system, this would give them a full package for the average user.
Unfortunately it puts them in a position to know what people are looking for no matter the search engine, to catalog their desktops with Google Desktop, and collect analytic to sell in the future. By profiling users (from multiple points) they may make advertising better, which drives a profitable part of their business.
