Canadian domain names

I was reading around and saw that to have a Canadian domain (.ca) one has to be a Canadian Citizen, or have a physical presence in Canada or own a Trademark registered with Industry Canada.

What checking is done by the registry to make sure that the registrant is suitable to register canadian domains do they check up or send something to the registrants address like with co.uk

i persume that one can register unlimited amounts of .ca
