My IP has been banned from whois.networksolutions.com because I made too many whois requests. Does anyone know how long this ban will last? 24 hours? Permanent?

Will I have to get a new IP address now?

well try another 'who is' look up or go to our site.. we offer free 'who is look up' to visitors and members of all domain extensions. (if we've left any out.. let us know)

or try www.betterwhois.com

I seemed to have gotten banned by betterwhois.com permanently? I'm using DirectTV DSL.
I can't even load that page anymore. I wondered what happened to it.

I find it interesting that a company offers a service, and then bans the customer for using it. It must be the new way of doing business! :)

Bingo..
what a 'reverse' reality.. joke..

your right.

if they solicit and offer 'free who is searching'
then why ban the visitor/users.

Registrars often bad people who use automated methods to access WHOIS data: They don't want people mining their customer base and sending them spam, "Transfer your Domain" offers etc.

Are you using software such as popularity onsnap to look for the rankings? Try delting your cache and restarting you computer. It will probably work.

Btw. anyone have any problems using popularity onsnap. I have not been able to run it for a while now. It works on and off. I think its somehow linked with the programmers server because it takes a while sometimes for it to open?
