Hello guys and girls (almost said sherpas) :D :D

I have just bought following LL .co.uk domains for a reg fee + have preordered relevant .uk domains as well:
  • 1-r
  • 1-f
  • 1-h

Would you consider them a pigeon sh*! as well?

What is your experience selling hypenated domains like these?

.. my plan is to have a price range of £500-£900 ($840-$1500) for each of them... Am I an over-optimist?

have a great weekend,
Helmuts

Is there a special meaning to these combinations?

These names were available for a reason.

not really..

Just very short domain names.. Actually I had I potential buyer for 1-r(dot)co.uk - his surname starts with R and that was my main point. But after selling him an idea to go for a good domain name - he is considering to buy much, much better and 10x more expensive domain of me.

About the numbers.. 1 always stands for being [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] in some industry.. for example, some top class snooker player has/had a reg number for his car CUE1

But then of the top there is that hyphen that really worries me :/

Exactly :/ .. but could the reason be >> "owner didn't bother to try to sell them?" ;)

.. it just seems that most UK domainers today passively sit on domains and sell of some to other domainers to have a cash flow.. :) .. my opinion :)

Think of how much beer you'd buy instead of these three domains with esoteric meanings.

:) I have enough beer home :D

ok, to be serious.. they are very simple, super short and easy to remember domains + they would look good on any business card.. that was my main motivation before I bought them.

Original question: do you consider them <<Pigeon sh*!>>?

I'm not familiar with the .co.uk namespace. The respective .coms are sitting 'for sale' for a decade+ so if your goal was to sell them at these prices you'll probably have a hard time. Although the initial investment is small, renewing domains without any potential for years leads to dropping them eventually. The idea is to not register crap names and to drop any crap names along the way.

in the UK .co.uk and .uk domains are the main domains where .com ones are mostly used only if .co.uk is taken or the company/blogger/organisation are targeting international market/society.

have a great weekend,
