It's been reported worldwide that the fat PS3 console are experiencing some Y2K-like error, which results in not able to login to PSN, trophies (and friends) lost, and even playing some games OFFLINE with errors.

if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

Been following this story for the past 24 hours also.

Yes, there are reports that things are back on at 7 PM tonight, when the non-existing Feb 29 of 2010 finally moved on to Mar 1 finally. And some people think the Y2K problem was a joke.
