Just curious as to the decision making process that went into this purchase. Whom do you expect to be interested in buying the name? Was any consideration given to the recent introduction of .aero? How much do you anticipate selling the name for? Thank You.

none of us bought it, it belongs to buydomains. I just pointed out that I think is the best domain that has dropped in a while...

Who might be interested? Well, how about one or two of the thousands of people/companies that has already registered a domain containing the word airlines.

I'd say it could go for 5 figures...

A quick English lesson; who is the is the correct form for the subject of a sentence or clause (who said that? The guard who let us in checked our badges.) and whom is used for the object of a verb or preposition ( whom did you ask? To whom are we obliged for this assistance?).

Maybe DelusionsOfGrander.com will drop. Then your id can become more descriptive.

"Whom do you expect" has 287 hits on google
"Who do you expect" has 4710 hits on google...

I guess you could do it your way if you like the sound of it...

Your other comment about delusions etc. went straight over my head. Care to elaborate?

My bad, I did not spell "grandeur" correctly. The point is that no one would pay any amount even close to 5 figures for "airlines.net". Nothing personal.

maybe so, maybe only 4 figures, - but on what facts do you base your statement?

I remember reading a post where you complained that there is no market for domains any more, you did not get any offers. You had made a large survey, and the result was statistically significant, there is no interest in domain names any more.

Eh, looking at the by google cached copy of your domain portfolio at www.tradealink.com, I certainly understand the significant lack of offers...

LOL . . . English lessons? You can't spell and your own grammar is horrible.

First, I know a little about the aviation business. I have a degree in Aeronautical Science from Mountain View College. I am a FAA Certified Airline Transport Pilot, an FAA Certified Flight Instructor and a FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant Technician. I had spent more than 5 years with Cessna Aircraft Company as a Sales Engineer and more than 5 years with Bombardier (Owner of Learjet) as a Technical Analyst. I have logged more than 5000 hours of professional flying that includes passengers and freight for Martin Air. I have personally flown for people such as Mark Cuban and Michael Dell on charter flights (able to get advice on the name market).
As for the domain name business experience; I have invested about 50,000. USD into domain names, with a return in sales of about 150,000. USD. Leaving me about 100,000. profit in a three year time span. Names that I have sold include;

These are the facts that I base my opinions on.

I have never made any claims as to the value of any of my names or that I had a superior collection compared to others. Nor have I suggested that I am some expert on domain names.

I have only insisted on facts and logic which seems to irritate certain individuals on this forum. These same individuals in turn want to twist the debate into a personal matter distracting from the original point. So I will state agian, Airlines.net will not fetch 5 figures or even 4 figures.

I think it is reasonable to assert that I would be in a better position than you to understand the marketing principles involved with aviation type businesses and the value of aviation related domain names.

I would be interested in your "facts".

So I will state agian, Airlines.net will not fetch 5 figures or even 4 figures.

Interesting statement. not even 4 figures indicates under 1k.

A little pessimistic in my humble opinion. Selling or buying 7.5-10k would be my range if I was putting a value on it.

However it would represent a name "I WOULD NEVER SELL":D

I agree with your assessment, Gordon. It's definitely 4 figure, possibly low 4. Low 5 to the right, motivated buyer would not shock me. Add a figure if it were the dot com version.
