Brandable, yes, to a lawyer :)
memorable, yes after the law case.

Its spellable.
Seriously, it does sound nice, but I would worry about TM issues.

You really think that it is a TM infringmemnet

Amaz (amaze)

ogle (ogle)

I am planning to use it for an adult search directory.

I dont see how it could be a problem, what do others think?

Oh, come on! You know that your domain infringes the trademarks of two
well-known companies, namely Amazon and Google. Don't come with your
excuse the domain would be set up of "amaze" and "ogle"... Do you really
think judges would believe you? In addition your domain includes two "o",
not only one. So your domain is "amaz" + "oogle" or "amazo" + "ogle".
Whatever, your domain is crap due to the TM infringement. Believe me or
not.

The name by itself is not infringing on anything. But how you use it, will decide whether you get a single or a double whammy.

In addition, to convince you, Amazoogle is a common nickname for Amazon's
A9 search engine. If you really want to keep your domain name you should
contact your lawyer first. It's a hot domain.

Oh, I see you're asking for the domain's brandability: The domain is so highly
brandable that it has already been branded twice :-D

My tip: Play it safe.

Just because it happens to be a nickname of A9, thats just a made up phrase.

No one company can own a phrase.

Amazon have only 'amazon' as a registered trade make.

I also have Deegle.com and Blamzo.com, are companys with simular names to this going to take offence.

By having a site named Amazoogle.com does not mean we are trying to use another companys brand name or reputation

Anyone for the name - or all negatives?

Zoogla is "jungle" in Greek. You can always pretend you are the head warrior of this Amazon tribe but usually it helps not being in denial.

I am not in denial, but just think that it is not a tm infringment.

For example the person who owns oogle.com (is that a TM issue?)

I am going to make Amazoogle.com will be an Adult Porn Directory.

I am aware that google went for www.Booble.com and lost!

A name DOES NOT need a meaning like thousands of domains out there...

So Amazoogle.com sounds good, thats why I like it, Simular to Deegle.com and Blamzo.com

check this out www.youho.com (now is that not a massive TM issue?)

Yes, if you make the domain anything related to a search engine, directory, online store and the like you should expect to be contacted by the legal department of Amazon or Google or - worse! - both.

don't get me wrong I see your point, an appriachte the advise, but by using the domain is it just a risk that something will come of it - or highly likely?

What do you make of these sites? They are stll up are running for business

There's no way you weren't thinking of Amazon and Google when you registered this name – no way.

I like your amaze + ogle blag though - gave me a smile :)

No point in starting something that will cause an event that "may happen" instead why don't you use your own creativity to find a genuwine name that doesn't even lead the littlest doubt to a TM issue.

My 2 or 3 cents,

My 2 or 3 cents,

Thats easy to say...

I actually bought the name because I liked the sound of it.

Amazoogle.com

I doubt very much that anything will come of it

lol

Maybe zoo.com will have an issue too?

You really don't get it... If you're going to go through your whole life with
such a small-mindedness all I can say is "Good luck! You will need it."

Google has already sued many people for having domain names with "oogle"
in it. They have even sued the owner of "Froogles.com" although he had
applied for the trademark "Froogles" before Google filed their Froogle-TM.
Your TM infringements against both Amazon's and Google's trademark
is more than obvious. Now go, get rid of that domain. It's worthless!

Well, this is my last post in your thread. If you're still thinking that you're
on the safe side, no problem for me. Just a problem for you  As I said:
"Good luck!" :eek:k:
