For an amount exceeding, say, $250?

Just interested. I'm wondering if the market's as dead as it looks.

Well I wish they were mine. :) those are ALL successful auctions from Afternic.com domain auctions for the last two months.

The quantity seems a little sad to me. I think perfectname.com is doing better.

I think businessesforsale.org for $630 is a little surprising, particularly given my own experiences of orgs. I used to have some nice, key one-worders. Most I was ever offered was $100 for Influential.org and $450 for Damages.org. Maybe times are changing. I'd certainly like people's opinion on orgs as I've identified some great one worders that are available but am a bit reluctant to buy as there seems to be a negative vibe about this extension.

Business is BOOMING

Glad to hear that Gregr - you give everyone hope! It just goes to show you - conduct yourself as a professional, offer good service and a fair price and customers will beat a path to your door - even in down market times. Thank you for setting a fine example for us follow.

Yes, congrats gregr. Excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering why this three-letter .com would fetch such a high price while others are around $200?

Losers.net
099.com
BoatShow.org

BoatShow.org was sold for $500.

Losers.net and 099.com sold to members here, so I will not divulge the price, but it was more than $250.

All 3 were sold in the last 3 weeks.

well, the domains that sell for $200 are like xjq.com and zxz.com and worthless names like that. The reason they are worthless is that it is highly unlikely that a real company would want ever need them. If you own a name like SRE.com, there are probably 5 or 6 big corporations that use the letters SRE as their acronym, while how many companies use XQJ? Not many, i expect.

Many thanks for the explanation draqon.

On the subject of companies, I picked up a dropped four-letter .com name which turns out is also a fairly large firm's stock market abbreviation.

Would anyone know if I am at any risk here simply because the company uses the same abbreviation?
