Hi All ,

Is there a site where they track the ratio of Appraisal amount and
eventual Sales amount. For example if a name was appraised for
$ 10,000 and sold for $5000 the ratio will be
50 (5000/10000*100)

The closer this ratio is to 100 , the better the appraisal.

Please also share your experience about how much your names
were appraised for and how much sold for.

Thanks,

Honestly, appraisals are funny things. Truth be told, any given domain may suffer a tremendous mismatch between appraisal and selling price if true "want" turns out to be high enough (or low enough). I've never had a formal "appraisal" per se, but I doubt any such appraisals would have fairly divined the final sale price.

Finding a buyer is becoming harder and harder these days, unless there is compelling interest and/or data to back-up the business impact of purchasing a domain.

Any IMHO, an appraisal is a representation of the price of that opportunity. That degree of opportunity may change wildly from person to person. Domains with no successful development history or traffic record are least like true realistate and most like unopened books with great (and not-so-great) covers. Judging the "book" can be rough waters, and many people have learned this the hard way.

Domains are one of the few things that people buy in massive quantities with little if no idea of how they themselves would practically use it, while having huge delusions about how others would. Kind of like collectibles. :)

So you mean the percentage then :)

You mean the higher the number the better. 150 is better than 120 although 120 is closer to 100. ;)
