If a .COM domain is sold at 1200, how much is .NET domain worse?

It can be more if you found the right buyer for it.

I would put .Net in 2nd place in the extension race. Obviously 1st being .com.

Just because a .com sells for 1200, doesn't mean the .Net is worth less. Perhaps the seller of the .com let it go well below what its worth?. For example, if someone sold "games.com" for 1200, that doesn't mean "games.net" is worth less than 1200.

to answer your question, I think it is reasonably safe to generalize that .net is worth 20%-40% of .com

Yea, but more sense doesn't mean more cents.

It all depends. Value is established by relevant contexting, not just the anal notion of type-in traffic.

I've had a couple decent offers on The911.net, but am still hanging on to it.

Interestingly, I got a spam offer from the owner of The911.com, but I was not interested. Since com is so closely associated with COMmercial, I did not wish to own a name that seemed to commercialize the 911 tragedy.

I thought someone might set-up a 911 Network of some kind!

ACtually, it's best not to associate your 911.net with the tragedy at all.

The911.net(work) could be thought of as an emergency network of many kinds or sorts.

Good luck

Agree - very negative in the view of many people - 911 as the US Emergency Number much more productive IMO.
