How can you tell if namewinner picked up a domain for you or not?

There was a Tucows-registered domain that was getting ready to drop that I wanted, so I signed up with several drop services and I guess it dropped over the weekend, but whois only shows this:

Domain Name: XXXXXXXXX.XXX
Registrar: DOTSTER, INC.
Whois Server: whois.dotster.com
Referral URL: http://www.dotster.com/help/whois
Name Server: No nameserver
Updated Date: 24-nov-2002

Namewinner is Dotster-affiliated correct? So does this mean I won, and should be expecting an e-mail from namewinner, or did something just go all screwy :)?

Thanks!

I heard it could take years for a name to drop. Maybe it was just me though?

I don't think so ion this, the domain was registered through Tucows until this weekend, and it expired on October 14th. So, I think it dropped -- I just don't know if I picked it up :D.

Log into your namewinner account, and go to your watch-list domains. Look at the status of this domain. If it says YOU GOT IT then it's yours. If it says PENDING and you are sure you were the high bidder, then it is also most likely yours.

Sometimes you have to bug customer support at Dotster, as the status doesn't update properly.

That was my thought as well, so I sent them an e-mail, but knowing their support I figured I would not hear back from them until at least Tuesday :D. I figured I would check with you guys first, to see if you had any insights.

It turns out Namewinner did win one for me: domainboy.net! Yayayayay :). Now, there were no other bids on the domain name, and I am not sure how much it is worth -- but I liked it, so I am happy to pay the $8.75.

I kind of like that name UU. It's something David Letterman would call you - Hey Domainboy!. Don't know that it has much resale value but it could be branded pretty easily because it is so memorable. Now you'll have to change your forum user ID!
