Do You Recommend WP loaded For Each Individual Domain Or A Multisite Configuration?

I'm in the process of learning Wordpress and I wonder what is the best way to manage several sites with this CMS on the same server. On the surface, the Multisite configuration seems to be the best way to go. It saves time, duplication of effort, disk space, etc. But what if you sell an individual domain? How difficult is it to decouple the site from the multisite complex and, if this in fact a problem, are there any other drawbacks to be taken into consideration ?
I'd be interested in what others think. Thank you and forgive me if this question has been answered elsewhere on this forum.

I've never used WP with a multisite configuration but IMO it's a bad idea. If you have one issue, one bad plugin, one messed up piece of code.. everything get's hit.
