Domain giants VS hosting specialists

Ah, grief.

We operate a successful script sales site and a lot of clients come to us with a hosting plan already paid for, asking for help to install our script.

WHY OH WHY they do they get seduced by the abominations of Godaddy , eNom and other non specialist.
They have hideous in house built interfaces.
Well, marketing, that's why. They don't know any better.

I will have a tiny hosting company using Cpanel over any of these non-specialist providers.

Rule of thumb: never choose a domain provider as your hosting service.

Agreed! Godaddy has some serious issues.

I had a working website at godaddy, paying for SSL certificate too, and they decided to stop supporting some software - that everyone else supports - and my site just stopped working. I was really unhappy.

I know the feeling. I used to run a hosting company and would offer to transfer new customer websites over. It was always fast and easy if their hosting company used cPanel. I'd always get people using GoDaddy with their funky control panel and it made things a pain!

Agree, most large domain registrars do not have competent webhosting

For the same reason I look to host domain and hosting with web hosting specialist they handle both hosting and domain and I am pretty happy with the support I get for them. Godaddy is just the worst company when it comes to hosting. .. got many of my customers website migrated to Webhosting UK
