.com domain is best for starting a business. But you should have to check out that your business related domain is available or not

I agree that .com is by far the best TLD in most cases (unless you're creating a smart name using extensions such as .ly)

.com will work perfect with most businesses. Of course you come across the problem with domain availability. If you like a domain but the .com is taken look for a domain hack. Like if your called "Dime" you could pickup the domain di.me which would be cool for your business. There are many great tools out there that can help find a business domain for yourself, just look around.
