Is it just me or is Gmail just overrated and stupid?

I wasn't sure at first but I've been using my account for a while now and it is really nice. Beats all the other free services and you don't have to worry about it being on your own server if you want a large account. It's great IMO.

Gmail's server is not stable, so some of you may have trouble with gmail access for sometimes I think.

to be more specific.
I have created 3 accounts with them.
So far, I have not been able to access a single 1!
After the login, it goes to a page that says 'loading', and then nothing.
I wonder if its my firewall?
Anyone experience this?

well, what do you know!
I downloaded netscape 7.1 and voila! I finally saw the folder of my gmail account!!! For the first time!

I am SURE it has something to do with ZoneAlarms moronic new updates with their firewall.
It keeps getting worse.

That's why Gmail is in BETA guys. You need to feedback these problems to them. :-D

alot of these problems are actually with a level3 router, it affects more then just gmail though. It has been acting strangly since Thursday or so. affects the akatami stuff, and hence a few major sites. You can change a registry setting on windows to try and work around it.

It seems to mostly effect people whos traffic is routed through the US east coast,
but it is not a gmail server problem per say.

interesting parrot.
my traffic is routed through the east coast of the US (I did one of those visual traces).
I also have been having trouble reaching the google site itself, but it has gotten better.

On gmail, I kind of miss not being able to create folders, but apprently their philosophy is based just on that, because of their search.
also, when replying, it looks like you cant choose to have a part of the message there and snip out what you dont want.

Since we are on this subject, gmail doesn't display images from emails who have them, are they being filtered out?

By default it does not show the images, buy you can click to show them. This is actually an anti-spam technique

Good because I'm sick of receiving those kind of emails.
