I have offered to sell my domain name (one I've actually used for a few years) to a small drug company. They have replied with interest.
I'm trying to research their financials but so far haven't found anything at EDGAR.
Most of the resources on the net seem to center around trying to FIND a buyer.
I need to find out HOW MUCH to ask!

Any resources/advice?

Thanks

1) "Professional" appraisals. Most people here say they are not worth the paper they are written on.

2) You could tell us the domain name (if it is not confident) for appraisal.

3) Is the "drug company" you are talking about a producer or a small pharmacy? At least in the first case their financial situation shouldn't matter. They will pay what they think having this name is worth. Is it a descriptive generic domain? Type-in traffic maybe? I was asking already how these components can help to estimate the value of a doman ( http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6564 )

You can try www.hoovers.com. They give some good information if the company is listed.

When they replied, how did they sound? Excited, like a great opportunity or interested, but speculative.

What is it worth to you? Have you made a profit from it while you've had it?

If you're looking to retire by selling this domain name, forget it. Those days are pretty much over.

Without the name, I can't give an appraisal.

Good luck!

Thanks for the good input. Unfortunately the name is not common and not even a real word in english and it's value to me was artistic in nature, but my (possible) good fortune is that a company has taken on this same name. So I guess that makes standard appraisals fairly useless in my case (I don't own "porn.com" etc)
And to compare my revenue stream to theirs is surely apples to oranges.
They are not listed. No info on Hoovers etc. Just a blurb here and there about deals struck with another Pharma co.
They are a research and development co so I bet they have fairly deep pockets.
But I'm not out to fleece anyone. I'm just trying to establish what the market is.

Thanks again.
