I must admit I don't know that much about domain appraisals, but I would be very happy to get an appraisal on these :

www.world-news-today.com
www.world-sports-today.com
www.world-trade-today.com
www.world-business-today.com
www.world-market-today.com
www.world-travel-today.com
www.world-shipping-today.com
www.world-stock-today.com

I also have :

www.worldsportstoday.com
www.worldstocktoday.com
www.worldtradetoday.com

Will these be totally worthless because of the hyphens?
Or do the domains have a developing potential ?
And what about the 3 last ones without hyphens?

If someone will be so kind to enlighten my on this, I'd appriciate it alot:)

Thx,

Ps, hope this isn't alot to ask for in my first post??:)

Hi,
Welcome to dnforum.com, I hope you enjoy your stay. Below is my honest thoughts, so don't be offended.

Will these be totally worthless because of the hyphens? yes
Or do the domains have a developing potential ? no
And what about the 3 last ones without hyphens? Just as bad as the ones with hyphens

Enjoy your stay!

Welcome aboard, Linnca! :)

I wouldn't say just any hyphenated domain is worthless, but they are normally a fraction of their non-hyphenated counterparts. I would however be more focused on or even develop those that you also own the non-hyphenated, so when it's time to sell, these smaller guys will be added values.

I think it is best to stick to domain names that is minimun of two keywords.... mind you I do have names with three keywords.
If you are new to regging domain names, my best advice is to stop and think about registering the name first, do some research at Overture.com here http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
A good domain name that is going to sell, must be very relevant to what people are looking for... just ask around here, sign up to other domain name forums and learn about Domain Name Speculating.
I am no expert, and it has taken me a few years now of this to learn the good and the bad.
Check out www.dnjournal.com that is a great site to see what names are selling for! And you can go to www.deleteddomains.com to find names for free, and you can also check out the crappy names what people register there.

What's wrong with you people. These days, double-hyphenated three-word domains, even in new extensions, go for a thousand :-D

Keep in mind that there can be a big difference between reseller values and enduser values

from a reseller perspective, your domains don't really offer much in the way of value

but... if you are able to develop them and begin attracting traffic, the value will be tied directly to that traffic, and the name will suddenly be worth more

Nice going all of you, and thx for answering. I am actually thinking of developing them since I have a "whole packet" of the "world-###-today.com domains. But it seems like a full-day job updating news and sports sites....Hehe :)
