Any way you could put the lead bidders user name beside each name? How to know if you are leading if you bid same as someone after them?

Edit: Hehe, just got your email, yes you may put my name beside any names I'm leading in.

Sharpy -

I ask each bidder their preference. sometimes the bidder wants to remain anonymous, so I just end up using 'aaa', 'bbb', 'ccc', etc. . .

I did put your name by your bids. :D

About 5 hours left in the auction.

PLEASE NOTE

By the amount of interest in this auction, I am going to permit proxy bids in the LAST HOUR. A lot of people are bidding on several names.

If you wish to make a Proxy Bid, please PM/email me with your bid(s). MAKE SURE YOU LABEL IT AS A PROXY BID (or a regular straight bid). If no indication is given, I will count it as a regular straight bid.

Best of luck to all the participants. Thank you for all of the bids thus far.

I will contact the winners tonight. I need to go to dinner, plus some came down to the wire. I need to check timestamps on a few.

Expect PM tonight or tomorrow!

How did that happen Bid? You know both Bob and I. You of all people should know both of us can be trusted completely. We would NOT allow a bid to top any other 3 days after an auction end, or even 1 minute. In fact NONE of these sales are worth any thought of screwing somebody out of a name that should have been theirs. Our integrity is worth much much more and you know that. The auction was run the right way. If anything got messed up at all, it was do to my doing a bike run to NY and no access to a computer, but as far as I know, Bob ran the auction just fine.

Everything is out in the open as far as I'm concerned. If the bidders asked for confidentiality, we respected that. Otherwise we listed the bidder. In the future all bidders will be listed so no-one makes any claim of unfair treatment. Sheesh Bid. How many transactions have we had? If Bob said somebody beat you in the last couple minutes, you can take it for fact. If it's not the case it will be straightened out.

Let me know what the f**k this is all about. Now I'm pissed.

When you guys first posted this auction I knew it was a bad Idea..

because it wasnt an auction ...it was a MAKE an offer ..

An auction is when bidders bid against each other and you know what the other guys bid is ..

Would it have really been such a big idea to plug in a $25 auction script ?
Would it really have been such a big deal to email a bidder and say hey..you have been out bidded ..would you like to bid again or drop ?

Bottom line..I am not going to say..hey sellers you have a name I want ..the bids at $32 can yo put me down for 1K proxy lol ... and for the sellers not to tell me when and what the other guy is bidding ...

I just wish you guys had done an auction instead of a MAKE OFFER ..

Like I said..I'm being a sore loser.. I wnated one of the names but I have to bid with common sense ..just wish I knew what the other guy was bidding ..wish the "auction" was open

I just refuse to participate in any further of these..

Nothing personal..

I've ripped the way our (DNF) auction operated the past year..

The thing that irrated me most was ..for the past 2 days I was shown as the winner !

.

Not worth the argument.

PPC was updated 10 minutes before the auction close with a higher than $700 proxy bid **AND**posted on the auction page.

enough said.

I wanted PPC.us too. I had bid $600. But, I am not crying about losing it. I have dealt with Bob for many years and know that he is a person of integrity. I got some good ones in the auction, and I lost some that I really wanted. Oh, well.

If anything, these guys might have made more money taking more time to auction these names off. So, I am pretty satisfied overall.

I am not taking sides or following this thread/auction but it does seem odd and I wonder why that would happen for so long?

BTW, $702 seems like a great bargain for ppc.us which I would peg at 4 figures, not 3.

I done business with both "Bob and Doc", all of which were conducted professionally!

I took part in the auction, and submitted a proxy bid ,which unfortunately, was exceeed by another.

It may be these guys first attempt at running this type of sale, and trying to do so,could have been overwhelming.....in the last minutes of the auction!

My bids could have been more competive,if I had been more conscious of the time difference (central time vs. eastern time).

I am confident that, should they decide to run a similiar sale, all issues brought forth, will be considered.

so what about the others domains, that did not sell?

Hey Real

Just to clarify. Bob and I owned all these names together. Bob was NOT gone for three days, I was. On a motorcycle run without access to a computer. Bob was attentively monitoring the auction throughout. If he says the updated bid on ppc was posted before the end of the auction AND a pm sent to Bid then you can take it for sure.

My guess is that Bid just needed to refresh that page or taken the pm from Bob seriously. I understand how it could be frustrating to lose by $2, but what the heck? All of us here have lost names or won names, but certainly don't start to question the integrity of two of the old timers over $2k let alone $2.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Biggie

To answer your question about the few remaining names that "did not sell". Actually we had blanket bids from a few people on all of the names at a base price of $20 creating a multiple tie on bids. We are getting back to them to break the ties.

Actually Stoc.. Bob was gone.. he wasnt logged in here for a few days and he never answered my messages. The auction page was NOT updated for 2 days ! For 2 days it showed that I had won one of the names.. are you saying otherwise ?

Really it isnt personal.. Just place your self in my position for moment.. the auction is closing you still have top bid.. the auction is over you still have top bid.. 2 days go by you are still showing as top bid..3rd you look again.. (because no one has answered your messages) ..... Bingo ..3rd you are no longer top bid..

would you be irratated.. would you want to chew someones ass for something run so poorly ?

I like both of you guys.. but IMO this was not a professionaly run auction..

I think both of you will discuss this and realize that maybe you ought to make some changes next time .. I dont expect anything other than ..Yeah.. it really wasnt the best way to do this "auction"

Please realize I have to blow some steam on this..and we can yell back and forth .. but that it really is not personal..

Bid -

I am sorry you lost the name.

I can honestly say to you that the page **WAS** updated with 10 minutes to go with the high bid on PPC of $702.

If you were seeing a previous bid (i.e. YOURS), then the only thing I can guess is that you were looking at a cached version of the page in your browser. I really cannot do anything about that from my end.

Again, I am sorry.
