My new site launch

Well, I couldn't wait any longer to upload my new site design.

It is 95% complete, the 5% missing is that my online voice over demos won't be up for another week or so and when the forms are submitted, the "successful submission" text is not complete yet (or in the correct font). These are minor fixes and I am working to rectify this.

All feedback is very much appreciated about my design/layout and how the site may look to you if you're on different monitor sizes or if you use different browsers to me (I have viewed on IE6 and Netscape 7 and I run on 1024x768 rez). I have viewed the site on the other rez however, it would be interesting to know if the site looks good on smaller than 17" monitors.

I would also love to hear from all the business people out there as to whether you feel the copy on my site would entice you to use my services for voice over work (if that's what you were looking for). Also, any comments about the site navigation structure are welcome (good or bad). I find it a little diffifcult to be objective when I'm so close to my project.

I appreciate any suggestions/feedback you all have.

Nice site. Good layout and clean design. I would also add a section in there on "testimonials" from customers who've used your services. It's kind of the old addage, "no one likes to be first". In this case using your services. You'd be surprised at the response you get when you have testimonials that list the person's statement, who they are affiliated with, their position, and telephone #.

One other thing I would do is incorporate your tag line "Excellence in Voice Overs" into your VA logo (like underneath). I really like the tag line and think it would enhance your overall professional image.

edit: How about using "Excellence in Voice Advertising" (keep with the same theme throughout)

Thank you Izopod! Would you believe my sister suggested the same thing to me a few days ago and I completely forgot about it (the testimonials). I do plan on adding a testimonials page to the site am very pleased that you came in with this timely suggestion. Thank you also for your suggestion on my tag line. My VA logo may be changing slightly and when it does, that would be the time for me to add the tag into it.

One other thing I forgot to mention, but you've probably already done is to list your site with an organization affiliated with the "Voice-Over" industry. Sometimes corporations go to these organizations first to get talent.

Anyways, I always like to see a good site go with a well thought out project. Nicely done! Do keep us up to date on your progress!

Hi Izopod ,

Indeed, I have quite a number of sites bookmarked for this purpose but have been hanging off until the site was done. As soon as I have my online voice over demos uploaded, and the testimonials page in place, I will be heading straight to these places to list my site/services.

So far, so good with the site. I was up pretty late last night changing the italics to regular font and noticed a few moments ago that I've missed one par on one page! Eeek. Trouble is, I'm not at home right now, so the fix won't happen on that until later today. Thankfully I haven't started any major promotions with the site yet so I doubt too many people will get to see the error.

Thank you heaps for your input. I appreciate it more than I can tell you.

Uggggg my withdrawals are very bad! Luckily my friend doesn't mind me using his for a while today so I can get a bit of a "fix".

I didn't like it. Sorry but i prefer to be straight. Let's take it one by one. The colour pallete are to gray and old... are very pesimistic colors and when i'm looking at that site i see a very nice lady, probably 40 years ago, with an old voice.
The navigation is to spreaded i think, and the links are small and blurry.
Looking in the source code i see some referings to a template, and macromedia dreamwaver scrips. Clean code, easy to follow, at least you didn't code it with Front Page. Overall is looking like a website from 96 97 era.

Anyway, i think that important is if you are doing good what you're doing, and if clients are satisfied. Then maybe you will think on re wamp your website.

Thank you for your honesty. I appreciate you taking the time to put your thoughts down for me. Feedback is excellent and I don't mind if it's bad or good, at least this tells me how different people view the site.

Customb, re your comment about the links being 'small and blurry', would you mind sharing with me what size monitor/rez you are viewing the web site on? I have looked at it on various monitors and different rez's and they seem fine (well, to me).

I'm using 1024 res on a 15" monitor, which is common, probably here is a different poit of view.
The letters are a litlle blury, because of the bad antialis. Also you choosed serif fonts, who are more hard to read when are in small sizes.

i think its a very nice site,i like the old fashion look,its wild because you can go to voice over websites and they all have there own little creative way of expressing there self ,site and services,i think its neat
